It had been 35 years since I had technical input into my squash. The pandemic stalled training and after a miserable competitive season in 2021/22 it was time to invest and get a bit of help.

Thus, I attended a Squash camp for two days in Amsterdam; focused on movement.

This would be my second trip to Amsterdam and I would end up spending four days in the city; two for squash before heading to Milan and onward to Morgex to visit my good friend Diego at La Maison de Lise in the Italian Alps.

The Squash camp was held at Franz Otten Stadion. A massive facility about 20 minutes from the city centre and 20 minutes from Schipol Airport.

I found the perfect hotel: The Correndon City Hotel. This hotel has a full spa, food, and is close to the Metro, Trams and buses. Perfect location in my mind.

Closing the camp in the city center!

More Canals and Amsterdam stuff.

Hotel: Correndon City Hotel Amsterdam Very conveniently located with easy access to the airport and to the city center. 200m walk to the nearest metro station.

Winkel 43: Amazing Apple Cake. This is near the Anne Frank house and it can get busy. They supposedly offer meals but that was not my experience. Just get the cake with whipped cream.

One can buy a transit pass via a card, or more conveniently in my case, buy it via the app and use the QR code via your phone. It works for the Trams/Metro and Buses. One needs a separate ticket, also available via an app for the Sprinter train, from the airport.

GVB: GVB reis app I used this app to purchase a 4 day ticket. In addition I also bought my pass for the Van Gogh museum via the app. I found it very useful. The alternative is to purchase a physical card similar to the Oyster/Octopus/Presto etc.. etc..
