Weekend in Zion with the Daughters

After several days of mountain biking in Moab and then Page Arizona, we had arranged to fly Lorissa in from Ottawa and Avery in from Phoenix; to meet us in St. George Utah.

Lorissa actually flew to Phoenix first to fly together with Avery from PHX to SGU. Despite a problem with her flight from YOW to YUL, she made it and we were there to meet them on time!

Stayed low in Zion…

November 9 2019

Today we went high. Observation Point trail as it being a gorgeous weekend the park was packed.

Observation Point is somewhat higher and while missing the danger element of Angels Landing, when the park is crowded, this trail is a better view, without the chaos of the chains.

There are two ways to get to Obersvation Point. Typically we would leave from the bottom of the Canyon and trek up; its a lot of elevation but a nice challenging day hike.

This trail has been wiped out through a series of landslides; not sure when it will reopen.

There is a way to drive around to the East side of the park- via the North Fork Rd, head to the East Mesa/Observation Point Trailhead. It is on Google Maps!
